We focus on practical, real-world phrases and vocabulary that you’ll use on your trip. From making sure your rental car has an automatic transmission to asking for directions to the train station, I’ve got you covered.

• Engaging and Fun: Our lessons will be interactive and enjoyable. Past students have practiced ordering from real restaurants in the cities they’ll be visiting, learned phrases like “I’m vegan,” and worked on their accent to ensure that they’ll be understood when they’re speaking. 

• Take the stress out of traveling: We all know what it’s like to be totally jet lagged, in an unfamiliar place, having difficulty connecting to airport wifi or the local cell service towers. French lessons can help take a major source of stress — an impenetrable language barrier — off the table, so that you can be more relaxed and enjoy your time away. 

• Flexible Learning Options: You can take your lessons online from the comfort of your home or office, or in-person in North Vancouver’s Lonsdale neighbourhood.

Meet your French teacher

Bonjour ! Je m’appelle Cecile. I’ve been working as an educator for eight years, and have extensive experience teaching French to people of all ages.

I used to live and work in the Ardèche region of France, and prior to that completed coursework at the Université Stendhal in Grenoble. I’ve visited Paris, Normandy, Chamonix, Lyon, Nice, Cassis, Sète, Annecy, Montpellier, Toulouse, Carcassonne, the Loire valley, and many more small villages, national parks, and nature reserves in France — travelling by train, plane, bus, rental car, and even the occasional hitchhike :) I’ve also been to Québec and Francophone Switzerland.

In total, I have travelled to fourteen different countries around the world. I know how nerve-wracking it can be to navigate an unfamiliar place, culture, and language.

The Traveller’s Special includes:

• 3 private French lessons, tailored to your destination(s), and your unique interests and needs. The curriculum is completely customized for each learner, ensuring that you get the most out of your lessons.

• A detailed, bespoke vocabulary list and pronunciation guide, that will cover essential phrases for dining, shopping, sightseeing, and other activities for your trip.

• Each lesson is 1 hour long.

• Lessons can be done online or in-person in North Vancouver’s Lonsdale neighbourhood.
